What Is It?
Profhilo is an innovative injectable treatment that sets itself apart from traditional dermal fillers. It is a highly purified, concentrated form of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) designed not to add volume or contour, but to actively bio-remodel the skin's structure, offering intense hydration and reversing tissue laxity.

The Science of Bio-Remodelling
Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of HA available on the market. Crucially, this HA is thermally stabilized (a unique patent), making it flow seamlessly beneath the skin, spreading across large areas to deliver its regenerative effects.
Mechanism of Action (The How & Why)
Profhilo works in two transformative phases to rejuvenate the skin:

1. Hydration and Cushioning (Immediate): Upon injection, the highly hydrophilic (water-loving) HA immediately attracts and retains water within the skin, providing deep, lasting hydration and a visible improvement in luminosity and texture.

2. Collagen and Elastin Stimulation (Long-Term): Profhilo actively stimulates four different types of collagen and elastin in the skin's dermal layers. This biological response remodels the aged tissue structure, leading to sustained tightening, improved elasticity, and increased firmness over time.
This dual-action mechanism is known as Bio-Remodelling—it restores the integrity of the skin's structural components, resulting in firmer, smoother, and healthier-looking tissue.
Targeted Treatment Areas
Profhilo is designed to treat larger areas of skin laxity and textural issues:

Face: Using the specific BAP (Bio-Aesthetic Point) technique (five strategic points on each side of the face) to ensure wide, even product distribution for global facial rejuvenation.

Neck: To significantly reduce horizontal lines, crepiness, and general laxity (often known as "Tech Neck").

Décolletage (Chest): To smooth sun damage, reduce creasing, and improve skin quality.
​
Hands: To restore volume, reduce the appearance of visible tendons/veins, and improve crepey skin texture.

Body: Used on areas like the inner arms and knees to address skin sagging.
ESSENTIAL TREATMENT INFORMATION
TREATMENT COURSE AND LONGEVITY
Profhilo requires a short course of treatment to maximize its bio-stimulatory effect.

Sessions Required: A standard course requires two treatment sessions, spaced exactly 4 weeks apart. This two-session protocol is essential to achieve the full, lasting effect of the product.

Results Timeline: Clients often notice improved hydration and radiance within the first week. The full effect of tightening and remodelling becomes evident 4 to 8 weeks after the second treatment as the new collagen and elastin mature.

Longevity: Following the initial two-session course, results typically last between 6 to 9 months. Maintenance is recommended every 6 months to sustain the optimal level of skin hydration and stimulation.
PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE (7 DAYS PRIOR)

Avoid Blood Thinners: Stop taking non-essential blood-thinning medications and supplements (e.g., Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oils, Vitamin E), only after consulting your prescribing physician, to minimise bruising.

Avoid Alcohol: Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 48 hours before the procedure.
AFTERCARE (24-48 HOURS POST-TREATMENT)

Expect Bumps: Small, raised bumps or wheals will appear at the injection points, particularly with the BAP technique. These are normal and expected, signifying the product has been placed correctly, and usually dissipate within 4 to 6 hours.

​Avoid Touching/Pressure: Do not vigorously touch or massage the treated area for at least 6 hours.

​Avoid Extreme Heat: Refrain from heavy exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for 24-48 hours.
Possible Side Effects
Common (Lasting a few hours to 1 day): ​
Temporary redness, slight swelling, and the visible 'blebs' (bumps) at the injection sites. Pinpoint bruising is possible. ​

Safety:
Profhilo is highly biocompatible and very well-tolerated. It does not contain the cross-linking agents found in traditional dermal fillers, making it extremely low-risk for lumps and allergic reactions. As with any injection, there is a small risk of infection.
