Nasolabial Folds & Marionette Lines

The Signature Lower Face Refresh

As gravity and time impact the face, the natural fat pads and structural support in the mid-face begin to deplete, leading to characteristic shadow lines. Our bespoke treatment focuses on restoring lost volume, smoothing deep creases, and lifting the corners of the mouth to reveal a softer, more youthful, and naturally uplifted appearance.

This dual treatment targets:
• Nasolabial Folds : The deep lines that run from the side of the nose down to the corners of the mouth.
• Marionette Lines: The lines that run from the corners of the mouth downwards toward the chin, often creating a sad or downturned expression.
Your Bespoke Treatment Approach
We believe that exceptional results require a deep understanding of facial anatomy and the latest techniques. We offer an entirely customised service using the gold standard of Premium Dermal Fillers to achieve your desired outcome.

Needle vs. Cannula: Precision & Comfort
During your consultation, we will assess your specific anatomy and desired result to determine the optimal technique:

-
Needle Technique: Used for precise, small-volume placement deep within the tissue, often for structural support or treating superficial fine lines.
-
Cannula Technique: A blunt-tipped instrument used for product placement across a wider area with fewer entry points and a significantly lower risk of bruising and swelling. It is often the preferred method for safety and comfort in larger volume treatments.

The Decision: We will discuss which technique is best suited to your unique anatomical structure and comfort level, ensuring a treatment plan we both confidently agree upon.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
To minimise the risk of bruising and ensure the best outcome, please adhere to the following guidelines:
-
Avoid Blood Thinners: Stop taking all non-essential blood-thinning medications and supplements, including Aspirin, Ibuprofen (NSAIDs), fish oil/Omega-3s, Vitamin E, St. John's Wort, and Garlic supplements. (Only stop prescription medication after consulting your GP.)
-
Alcohol: Avoid consuming alcohol for at least 24-48 hours before your appointment, as it can thin the blood and increase bruising risk.
-
Arrive Fresh: Come to your appointment with a clean face, free of makeup.
Typical Timeline & Factors Decreasing Duration
Immediate Effect: Immediately Visible Volume is restored instantly, and folds are smoothed.

Peak Result 2 to 4 Weeks: Final results are visible after any mild swelling fully subsides and the filler integrates with the tissue.

Duration 9 to 18 Months: This is highly variable, with premium fillers often lasting 12-15 months in this area.

Top-Up Recommended upon the first sign of volume loss to maintain results. Consistent maintenance can lead to longer lasting results over time.

Individual Results Vary: Longevity depends on the type of premium filler used, the depth of injection, your body's metabolism, and external factors like sun exposure.
POST-TREATMENT AFTERCARE
Adhering to these instructions is vital for comfortable recovery and optimal results:
-
Avoid Touching/Pressure: Do not touch, rub, or apply pressure to the treated area for at least 6 hours.
-
Makeup: Avoid applying makeup for 12 hours post-treatment to minimise infection risk.
-
Strenuous Exercise: Avoid vigorous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, or any activity that significantly raises your body temperature for 24-48 hours.
-
Alcohol & Heat: Avoid alcohol and excessive sun/UV exposure for 48 hours.
-
Pain Relief: If needed, use Paracetamol (Acetaminophen). Do NOT use Ibuprofen/NSAIDs for pain relief, as this can increase bruising.
-
Sleeping: Sleep on your back with your head elevated for the first night, if possible.
Expected Side Effects & Potential Risks
Expected Side Effects (Common & Normal)

-
Swelling: Mild to moderate swelling is the most common side effect, typically peaking within the first 24-48 hours and resolving over 5-7 days.
-
Bruising: Possible, especially in the delicate lower face. Bruises can last 3-10 days but can be easily covered with concealer after the first 12 hours.
-
Tenderness/Redness: The area may feel tender to the touch for a few days.

Potential Risks (Rare, but Important to Know)

-
Lumps/Bumps: Small palpable lumps may be present initially. These are usually temporary and can often be massaged out by your practitioner at the review appointment.
-
Infection: Extremely rare when following strict aftercare.
-
Vascular Occlusion: An extremely rare but serious complication where the filler inadvertently enters a blood vessel, restricting blood flow. This is why we prioritise precision, aspiration, and the use of cannula techniques where appropriate. Your safety is our paramount concern.

Action: If you experience severe pain, colour changes (blanching or mottling of the skin), or extreme coolness in the treated area, contact us immediately.
